Dirksen Federal Building

Job

In 2003, Retro-Tech performed a lighting upgrade in the 14th floor courtrooms of the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago, Illinois..

Scope

This $400,000+ lighting project was performed in order to provide new dimming luminaries and control systems for courtrooms and classrooms. The upgrade included new dimming compact fluorescent cans, dimming fluorescents, and dimming metal halide luminaries. In addition, an extensive Payne-Sparkman Controller was installed along with a computer network which provided touch screen controls at various points in the courtrooms

Results

The overall results are impressive. The lighting system is now fully dimmable in multiple stages and each judge has complete control over all of the courtroom lighting.
