Where We Are
In the summer of 2010, RTS moved its corporate office to Valparaiso, Ind., because the city offered us diversity and lots of opportunities in the business community. The atmosphere in Valparaiso allows RTS to take advantage of collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors, the global economy, a skilled workforce, a strategic location and a strong network of regional partners.
Our decision to locate in Valparaiso was made because it is a quality community with strong economic development fundamentals. It attracts motivated and talented businesses and entrepreneurs and it offers a lifelong learning and pro-business climate. Valparaiso has cutting edge technology capabilities, a collaborative spirit, social harmony and a distinctive physical design.
The city is connected to business and commercial centers by interstates, highways, rail and air, and it is positioned strategically in Northwest Indiana to serve local, regional, national and international customers. Valparaiso is less than one hour from Chicago, less than two hours from Indianapolis and Milwaukee and four to five hours drive from Detroit, Cleveland and St. Louis. The city has easy access to three international airports (O'Hare and Midway in Chicago and Gary-Chicago Airport). The South Shore Railroad provides another important option for rail travel to and from Chicago.
